강렬하고 상쾌한 사운드로 청춘의 이야기를 들려주는 그룹 페퍼톤스(PEPPERTONES)는 신재평과 이장원으로 이루어진 남성 2인조 밴드이자 프로듀싱 유닛입니다. 2004년 “후추처럼 기분 좋은 자극을 주겠다”며 의기투합해 ‘페퍼톤스’를 결성했습니다. 그들은 첫 정규 앨범 [Colorful Express]을 통해 ‘우울증을 위한 뉴테라피 2인조’라는 타이틀을 얻었고, 청량하게 빛나는 음악으로 새로움에 목마른 사람들을 열광시켰습니다. 이후 페퍼톤스는 보컬 비중을 높이며 그들이 보여줄 수 있는 진심에 집중하기 시작했고, 녹색처럼 푸른 청량함, 여름을 닮은 열기와 강렬함을 담은 그들만의 음악을 쌓아왔습니다.
2024년 올해, 페퍼톤스는 데뷔 20주년을 맞아 앨범 [Twenty Plenty]를 발매했습니다. 오랫동안 사랑을 받아온 페퍼톤스의 곡을 동료 뮤지션들이 리메이크한 10곡을 엮은 A Side [SURPRISE!!], 그리고 오래된 테이프를 되감듯 세상에 아직 소개되지 못한 노래들을 다시 꺼내 새로이 구성한 B Side [<<REWIND]로 알차게 앨범을 구성했습니다. 20년 동안 멈추지 않고 달려온 페퍼톤스의 음악을 추억하고 곁을 늘 지켜주는 팬들에 대한 찬사를 표현하였으며, 다음 걸음을 향한 페퍼톤스의 새로운 호흡도 함께 시작되었습니다.

Peppertones, a group that tells stories of youth with strong and refreshing sound, is a male band and producing unit at the same time, consisting of Shin Jae-pyung and Lee Jang-won. With the goal of “providing a pleasant stimulus like pepper”, ‘Peppertones’ was formed in 2004. In 2005, Peppertones released their first full-length album ‘Colorful Express’, earning the title ‘New therapy duo for depression’, and wowed people who were thirsty for newness with their refreshing and shining music. Since then, they have started to focus on the sincerity they could show by increasing the proportion of vocals, and they have built their own music with freshness and a summer-like heat and intensity.
In 2024, their 20th anniversary album ‘Twenty Plenty’ was released. The album consists of A Side [SURPRISE!!] that combines 10 songs of Peppertons’ that have been loved for a long time remade by fellow musicians, and B Side [<<REWIND] that has been newly composed with songs that have yet to be introduced to the world like rewinding an old tape. Through this, Peppertones expressed their admiration for the fans who have always been by their side, which has been running non-stop for 20 years, and breathed new breath into the next step.
